Perhaps one of the best game ever watched on tv.

Everyone did well in the team and they had good possessing of the ball right from the blow of the whistle to the end of the game. Plenty of good 1-2 passes in the midfield esp with O'reilly, Lloyd and Boxx. Great vision of playing long balls from the back from Rampone, Chups. I must give extra props to Rachel Buehler who had her first Olympic start. She did exceptionally well.

Again, everyone was trying to get on the scoresheet which is a good sign. Chups almost had a goal off the post but Ang took the rebound and the NZ keeper was just unfortunate not to fully block out the ball. It's good to see those goal scorers getting on the scoresheet today. Finally they score an olympic goal. Ang has been scoring impt goals for us in the tune up to the olympics but this time, she scored a truly important Olympic goal for herself and the team, not only to add onto the goal diff that the team will have. Boxxy was great in midfield for us, winning plenty of headers and blocking out all the balls.

The very quick O'reilly goal was by far a very beautiful goal and it goes to show that we're taking any chances that comes by. I thought that could go out but it went in. Well done to O'reilly and Tarp's goal was another well taken chance as well.

The NZ just couldn't break through our defence line hardly. In fact, Solo was hardly threatened except for the 2 or 3 corners that NZ had and one side netting shot by Hill and the shot on target by Hearn/Yearn.

Kai could have scored but again Wagner played the ball too fast for Kai to latch onto it. Nonetheless, Kai pressured very well at the top. I'm glad that this team has bounced back from losing 0-2 to Norway to winning 1-0 to Japan and then 4 goals to NZ. Great win great win, this team is going far.

The cutest thing was seeing little Rylie with the pacifier and waving the USA flag in the stands!

The team will go far, for sure.

On another note, Canada's not doing well against Sweden but I predicted that the Swedes will win by a goal and they did 2-1!

Nights,
Marj
