Whoa, the Australian Open 2009 Men's Singles have definitely ended on a kina somber note when Roger Federer couldn't hold back his tears anymore and teared up infront of the 604,000 plus spectators. It's so hard to really come so far, finish 2nd not be able to beat a history record made by a great player, Pete Sampras. I nearly teared up when I saw him tearing. I'm just guessing that he's both upset about the loss (and not being able to beat Pete Sampra's record of 14 major titles) and being touched by the massive number of fans that he has andthat was there shouting his name throughout the 4 hours over match.

Nonetheless, Rafael Nadal, at only 22 yrs, fought through and won the title for the Men's Singles. It was a brilliant match and I will say that it is not wasted time watching the match. The best part was everyone standing up clapping for Federer while he teared silently like someone who received a letter from a long-lost friend and when Rafa had his hand over Rafa and head beside Federer (see picture above). A great role model indeed, off the court and on the court.
